Intimate reproduction is seen as a sexes— generally speaking male and female—whose evolutionary desires vary because their possible reproductive prices differ (Clutton-Brock & Parker, 1992). In people, creating a viable offspring, from gestation through lactation, takes females more than it requires males. The intercourse aided by the faster potential reproductive price— generally males— can benefit by trying to co-opt the reproductive work of numerous people of the sex that is opposite. (altro…)
